Madrid-born Olivia is the founder and director of Sol Academy. She graduated in History of Art from Roma Tre University of Rome before continuing her studies in Madrid where she completed a PhD in Hispanic Literature and a Master in Education at Complutense University of Madrid.

She has been teaching Spanish in the UK since 2004, first in Cambridge, where she taught at the Language Centre of Cambridge University, and in London where she worked as a Lecturer in Spanish at Goldsmiths University of London and Westminster University.

She founded Sol Academy in 2008.
